When and how do I apply?

Application deadline for the winter semester

All Bachelor degree programs begin in the winter semester (usually early October); application deadline is June 15 of each year.

Exceptions:
•  The application deadline for the B.A. Management of Educational Institutions is June 30.
•  Nursing (study process B), see summer semester

Application deadline for the summer semester

The following programs commence in the summer semester only (late March - early April):

For these courses, application deadline is November 30:

•  M.A. Management and Leadership Competence
•  M.A. Applied Ethics in Healthcare and Social Work
•  B.A. Nursing (study process B)

For these courses, application deadline is January 15:

•  M.A. Development of social and health services
•  M.A. Inclusive Education

Depending on your qualifications, after we have reviewed the information provided in the online application, you will be asked to submit your application by mail. A list of the required documents can be found on this checklist.

Please note that you can only apply for one program at the KH Freiburg.

What is the selection procedure at the KH Freiburg?

Selection procedure for undergraduate degree programs

In recent years, the number of applicants has significantly exceeded the number of available places at the KH Freiburg. The selection procedure is based on a point system, taking into account:

•    the grade achieved in the university entrance qualification
•    professional and / or volunteering experience in social or religious fields
•    military service / community service / voluntary service
•    exceptional circumstances

In accordance with the international guidelines of our university, we aim to increase the number of international students. That’s why a quota is provided in terms of a disadvantage compensation.

Selection procedure in master's degree programs
Each master's degree program has its own selection procedure. These are set out in the enrollment regulations of the respective Masters` programs. The enrollment regulations can be found under "Immatrikulationsordnungen" (in German).
